Little Creatures Brewery Geelong:
Little Creatures Brewing was born out of the love of great beer shared by a few good mates. In particular, it was a hop driven pale ale they tasted in the north west of the U.S that really captured their hearts and gave rise to this little brewery. But they are not in “Kansas anymore Toto”. They are in Geelong!!! Geelong, a city that is re-purposing itself and its beautiful heritage buildings from industrial and manufacturing to sport, health, education and hospitality. Little Creatures Brewery seized on a brilliant opportunity to re-purpose a disused heritage textile mill and the results are mind blowing, so is the experience. Start the day with a well-rounded tour of the brewery followed by tastings of both the Little Creatures range and then the more boutique, experimental little brother White Rabbit brews next door. Yum.Oakdene Vineyards, Cellar Door and Mr Grubb Lunch:
Nearly time for some food, but wait…let’s try the wine first! The cellar door, in the 'Upside-Down House', offers visitors to the Bellarine Peninsula a unique tasting room to experience. Designed by owner Elizabeth Hooley, the cellar door appears to be an A frame timber house that has been blown over in the wind, with the roof line on the ground and timber stumps exposed. This is just the beginning of the amazing quirky and astounding property landscape features, and the wine is good too. But now for lunch……. Mr Grubb is awesome. Highly noted for gourmet pizzas, superb pies, pastas and locally caught fish & chips. It’s casual, quality food and a good buzz all rolled into one. One course full a la carte menu items included* with a glass of wine, beer or cider. * just not the $45 steak. That’s an extra 10 bucks Stroll the eccentric and eclectic sculpture gardens before a lovely scenic costal drive. (Optional Fine Dining on request - Oakdene Fine Dining Restaurant)Ports, Towns and afternoon delights:
We’ll take you to the beautiful seaside ports of Queenscliff and Portarlington where we’ll treat you to a cold beer, wine or coffee & cake in one of the historical local pubs or bakeries. We think you’ll be truly relaxed by now.Flying Brick Cider Co:
But before we finish… How about some cider to cleanse the palate? The Flying Brick name and logo was derived from the yellow tailed black cockatoo, an awesome bird on the Bellarine Peninsula – whose local nick name is 'Flying Brick' because somehow, they defy the odds and can actually fly! Brilliant location, outlook and atmosphere to enjoy a tasty paddle of unique ciders made from crispy, crunchy apples, fresh succulent pears and some imaginative blended natural ingredients. Fermented with minimal interference. Dangerously delicious. You’ve just tasted the Bellarine.Arrive back to Melbourne
